Apathetic Moment

i broke the lightbulb

and i didn’t pick it up

the glass is scattered along the side of my wall

on the piano keys

and on the carpet

i broke the light

and i didn’t care

i let out a sigh

and carried on with what

i was doing

which wasn’t

very much.

i will pick up the pieces

once i feel better

i will pick up the pieces

once i care

(i am still learning to take care)
